Filter vacuum flasks, also known as Büchner or filtering flasks, are essential laboratory vessels designed for vacuum filtration applications. These flasks feature reinforced borosilicate 3.3 glass walls that withstand the mechanical stress of vacuum operations, distinguishing them from standard conical flasks. Each flask includes a sidearm extending 1½ inches with a barb-style connection (½" or ¾" OD depending on capacity) for secure hose attachment to vacuum sources. During filtration, the flask collects filtrate while residue remains on filter paper in the funnel above. The design also functions effectively as a vacuum trap in laboratory vacuum lines. Manufactured from heavy-wall borosilicate 3.3 glass and produced to ISO 9001 standards, these flasks offer excellent chemical resistance and durability. Hand-produced construction means minor variations are inherent to the product. Available in nine sizes ranging from 125ml to 10L, they accommodate diverse laboratory filtration, evaporation, separation, and chemical reaction applications.
